Howe Caverns Presents Service Awards to 11 Employees

HOWES CAVE, N.Y. (Aug. 20, 2009) -- Eleven Howe Caverns’ employees were recognized for their years of service to Schoharie County’s landmark attraction during the annual Employee Banquet and Awards Ceremony at the Best Western Inn of Cobleskill.

    “The experience and dedication of Howe Caverns’ employees is a huge element in our ability to offer our guests a world-class experience when they visit,” said General Manager Robert Holt.

    Honored for 20 seasons of service was Arlene Anderson of Howes Cave who works at the on-site motel.

    Ten employees were recognized for five seasons of service. They are:
•    April All of Barnerville and Carol Jacobs of West Fulton, gift shops.
•    Retail and Motel Manager Sue deBruijn of Cobleskill.
•    Guides Jessica Dever of Schoharie, Kelly Gannon of Central Bridge, Shane Jones of Cobleskill and Matt Thom of Carlisle.
•    Amy Mahar of Cobleskill, ticket office.
•    Brian Purcell of Saratoga, photo.
•    Wade Blanchard of Sharon Springs, motel.

    The second most-visited natural attraction in New York State, Howe Caverns is located off Exit 22 of I-88, between Albany and Cooperstown. It is open daily, with the exceptions of Christmas and Thanksgiving Day when it is closed.
