The lake is one eighth of a
mile long, two to eight feet deep, and is backed up by a six foot natural
flowstone
dam. The boats were brought down in sections and assembled off the dock.
They weigh 1800 pounds empty and over 2 1/2 tons when fully loaded. Each
boat holds about 20 people for the world-famous boatride on the underground
lake at Howe Caverns.
