Vestibule
The vestibule is the man-made entrance to the caverns
and the natural dead end. The natural entrance to the caverns lies over
a mile away. This is the only reinforced area in the caverns. The walls
and pillars were put in after the elevator shafts were blasted out in
1928. Everything beyond this point is natural, with the exception of
the walkways and lighting system.
