Rocky Mountains

This is the last known breakdown in the caverns. These rocks fell an estimated ten thousand years ago during the last ice age due to drastic changes in the temperature, humidity and pressure. They were named the Rocky Mountains by that first explorer, Lester Howe, as he went through the cave. Early tours had to climb from the stream on one side, over this rock pile and then down to the stream bed again. A rugged journey to say the least.
