Happy New Year from all of us at Howe Caverns. We are open every day 9AM to 5PM, HOWEVER, the boat ride portion of the tour will not be available Jan 5-8 & Jan 12-15 for annual maintenance. Only the walking tour which shows 90% of the caverns will be available those days. GO UNDERGROUND... We are the warmest place to be in the winter in the great northeast as it is always 52 degrees. After your tour try out our gemstone mining and geode cutting. Stop in our Sweet Shop for our homemade fudge, truffles and a cup of Starbucks coffee. We have quite a collection of souvenirs and gifts in our Gift Shop. Stay overnight at our motel.

On this one of a kind spelunking adventure, with our experienced guides, you will twist and crawl your way through the Mystery Passage and dry underground stream bed to the Great Rotunda - a 107-foot high, silo-shaped natural dome that is now reachable for the first time in more than 125 years. 2009 Rates (tax included) $108 per person Reservations required and may be made by calling 518 296-8900 Adventure Tour fees will be charged at the time of the confirmed reservation. The per-person charge includes rental of all outer wear (coveralls, gloves, boots, knee pads and lighted helmet). Adventure Tour guests also receive a souvenir and a certificate memorializing their accomplishment, as well as a complimentary pass for the regular cavern tour. No discounts are available for Adventure Tours. Dress appropriately. Bring a light jacket. The cavern environment is a constant 52º Fahrenheit / 12º Celsius and 70-75% humidity, year round. For the safety of our guests and preservation of the cavern, large bags, backpacks, etc. are not permitted underground. Wheeled devices and strollers are not permitted in the cavern. Above ground areas are accessible to mobility impaired visitors.	Explore the Mystery Passage and the Great Rotunda in a different way. The Great Rotunda is a silo-shaped dome with 107-foot ceilings formed in the cave before the last glacier disappeared.
