NEW CAFE MANAGER

Ashton Bland of Schoharie has been appointed to the new position of Café Manager at Howe Caverns.

“The new café is located in the former Howe Caverns restaurant,” said Howe Caverns’ General Manager Robert Holt. “The space is newly renovated and decorated. But the spectacular view of the Schoharie Valley remains,” Mr. Holt said.

Ms. Bland developed the new Café’s menu that offers deli-style sandwiches, Panini, homemade desserts, soups, chili and “macaroni and cheese, just like Moms,” she said.

A graduate of Schoharie Central Schools, Ms. Bland is currently enrolled in the culinary arts program at SUNY Cobleskill. She also attended Syracuse University and SUNY Oswego.

This is Ms. Bland’s fifth season at Howe Caverns, serving previously as a tour guide.

Howe Caverns is located between Albany and Cooperstown off Exit 22 of I-88. Daily hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April through October and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November through March. Howe Caverns is closed only on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
