Howe Caverns launches new website
Online Invitation to Go Underground!
HOWES CAVE, N.Y. -- Howe Caverns’ website, www.howecaverns.com, has an all-new look and new features that offer its virtual guests a way to learn more about the tours, book motel rooms, take virtual reality tours and stay up-to-date on the efforts to expand the caverns’ tour experience.
“Through the years our website has been a portal for millions of visitors to experience the beauty and wonder of Howe Caverns,” said Howe Caverns’ General Manager Robert Holt.
“The new site,” Mr. Holt said, “invites everyone to go underground for an online adventure that includes new photos, videos and a wealth of useful information. The site offers a taste of the caving experience that is unique to the natural wonder that is Howe Caverns,” Mr. Holt said. As Howe Caverns approaches its 80th anniversary of reopening to the public in 1929, visitors can follow all the latest news from Schoharie County’s landmark attraction in the expanded News Features and Events sections. As work continues to expand the caverns’ tour by an additional 150 feet, updated information about the work in progress is available on the new site.
The new website was developed by Wanderlust, a division of Howe Caverns’ advertising agency, Smith & Jones of Troy. Howe Caverns launched its first website in 1995.
“We’re proud of the new look and feel of the website that reflects the Northeast’s largest show cave in the online realm,” said Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker at Smith & Jones.”The website encompasses the world of Howe Caverns that is a truly fascinating attraction for all ages,” he said.
Howe Caverns is the second most-visited natural attraction in New York State (Niagara Falls is #1.) It one of the very few mineral caves of the world, formed by the power of water over the course of millions of years.
Howe Caverns is located halfway between Albany and Cooperstown and is open all year, closing only for Thanksgiving and Christmas days. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May through October and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November through April.
