Seasonal Flavors Arrive at Howe Caverns Sweet Shop

‘HOWE’ SWEET IT IS…

HOWES CAVE, N.Y. -- Fall Is in the air and the flavors of the season are special features at the Howe Caverns Sweet Shop in the Visitors Center.

Since it first opened in the spring, the Sweet Shop “is a great success.” said Howe Caverns’ General Manager Robert Holt. “The shop also is headquarters for the only Starbucks beverages brewed in Schoharie County, which are very popular,” Mr. Holt said.

With Halloween only days away -- and the 26th Annual Halloween at Howe Caverns charity benefit on Oct. 24 -- the Sweet Shop has special treats available.

From Vermont Chocolatier Lake Champlain Chocolates, new pumpkin truffles have arrived.  The smooth pumpkin flavor is wrapped in creamy milk chocolate.  These seasonal treats are intertwined with a wealth of lush chocolates at the Truffle Counter.  And the Howe Caverns’ ever popular homemade fudge has been enhanced with the addition of pumpkin to the vast selection of flavors.

For a special cave-themed treat, there are unique candy stalactites in four flavors --
cherry, orange, raspberry and lime.

Howe Caverns Sweet Shop has available the popular Peppermint Pig, a Christmas tradition in Saratoga for over 120 years.  What better way to convey your best wishes, than with the special gift of an original Peppermint Pig; which was considered a symbol of good health, happiness and prosperity in the Victorian age.

Howe Caverns is the second most-visited natural attraction in New York State (Niagara Falls is #1.) and is located halfway between Albany and Cooperstown. Howe Caverns is open all year, closing only for Thanksgiving and Christmas days. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May through October and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November through April.
