Howe Caverns Names New Food Services Staff, Caretaker
HOWES CAVE, N.Y. – Cathy Coyne of Cobleskill has been named Food Services Manager at Howe Caverns with JoAn Lapan of Fultonville the new head chef at Schoharie County’s landmark attraction.
Ms. Coyne previously managed the dining facilities at the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club for four years. At Howe Caverns, she will oversee the daily operations of the Café as well as banquets, weddings and special events in dining/banquet room.
A native of Long Island, Ms. Coyne attended SUNY Cobleskill.
Ms. Lapan, a Schenectady native, served for four years as chef at the Cobleskill County Club, working with Ms. Coyne.
“The Café,” Ms. Coyne said, “will offer our secret-recipe Cave House Chowder, special Paninis and wraps, homemade baked goods and a greater selection of healthy food choices. We have developed new menus for weddings and parties as well.”
The new caretaker at Howe Caverns is Suzanne Wetsell of Bramanville. A graduate of Cobleskill High School, Ms. Wetsell had served in the maintenance department at the Caverns.
Howe Caverns is located between Albany and Cooperstown, off I-88 at Exit 22. Howe Caverns is open daily (except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
