What a great way to celebrate Earth Day – inside the earth itself! On this special weekend, Howe Caverns will help you and your family discover the natural wonder of New York’s great cave.
Enjoy a guided tour of this living limestone cave, where you will learn how an underground river carved out the cavern over the course of millions of years. Along with the history and geology of the Cave, you’ll enjoy exciting tales, unique natural formations, and even take an underground boat ride.
When you return to the Earth’s surface, continue the experience by mining for gemstones. Anything you find, you keep! Then you’ll pick out a naturally formed volcanic geode, which will be cut on a diamond blade saw, while your family watches in anticipation of the beauty that hides inside.
