Welcome to Howe Caverns... We are open every day 9AM to 6PM.... GO UNDERGROUND... the temperature is always 52 degrees, the coolest place to be in New York this time of the year! Our guided tours take one hour and twenty minutes. After your tour try out our gemstone mining and geode cutting. Stop in our Sweet Shop for our homemade fudge, truffles and a cup of Starbucks coffee. Our Cafe is open with a fine selection of deli sandwichs, paninis, pizza, hot dogs, ice cream and much more. We have quite a collection of souvenirs and gifts in our Gift Shop. Stay overnight at our motel with an outdoor pool.

Looking for a new adventure for your group?

Howe Caverns is the perfect stop for your tour group, conveniently located between Albany and Cooperstown. We invite you to take our Traditional Tour, which lasts about 80 minutes. Your guide will lead you by foot through the main cavern, where you will learn about our spectacular limestone formations, to the shores of our underground lake, the Lake of Venus. From there, you will board to explore more stalactites, stalagmites and limestone formations.

After your tour, visit our Café for a delicious lunch and stop into our gift and sweet shops for some souvenirs and our world famous fudge.

We offer group rates. Group reservations are required and can be placed Monday through Friday, 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Call 518-296-8900 to book.
