Howe Caverns offers guided cavern tours every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas Days. Traditional Tours include a quarter-mile boat ride on the Underground Lake of Venus. Tours enter the cavern frequently throughout the day with a usual wait of not more than 30 minutes.

Howe Caverns is open 9 AM to 6 PM daily, with winter hours 9am to 5pm daily.

Advance ticket requests are not necessary for traditional tours. Tour length is approximately 80 minutes long and includes boat ride on the underground Lake of Venus. For more information please call 518-296-8900. All prices are plus tax.

Anyone age 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. 

PLEASE NOTE: We offer a 10% discount on all ticket prices for the Traditional Howe Caverns Tour. Guests must present a valid AAA membership card at the time of the ticket purchase.

Lantern Tours at Howe Caverns

Adventure Tours are offered any day at 9 AM and 4 PM with Advance Reservations. Reservations are taken Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM.

The all new Adventure Tour allows guests the opportunity to see an area not available to the general public in more than 125 years.

The all natural off-trail tour lasts up to 2 hours and is available to those age 18 years old and older, and we reserve the right to require proof of age. No caving experience is required. Advance reservations (72 hours or more preferred) are required and all guests will be required to sign our Liability Waiver and Release form (download below).

Adventure Tours are priced at $108 per person (tax included) which will be charged at the time of the confirmed reservation. The per person charge includes all outer wear, which we supply (coveralls, gloves, boots, knee pads and lighted helmet) and, Adventure Tour guests also receive a souvenir and a certificate memorializing their accomplishment, as well as a complimentary pass for the regular cavern tour. No discounts are available for Adventure Tours.
