Meet Dikshya from Nepal
Nepal is renowned for being home to 8 out 10 of the highest mountain peaks in the world. It is home to the Himalayas and highest peak on earth, Mount Everest. Mount Everest’s Tibetan name is “Qomolangma”, which means ‘The Mother’s universe”. Nepal is not only filled with breathtaking landscapes that adventurers long for and seek but it is also full of Buddhist monasteries and ancient temples. You can also find rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger there! Nepali are known as warm, welcoming and friendly people. 17-year-old Dikshya immigrated to the United States two years ago. She told us that the move was very hard for her because the landscape was so different and the environment was a stark contrast from what she was used to. There were many cultural hurdles that she had to overcome, as well as, a language barrier. She is currently studying in a health assisting program working toward becoming a physician assistant. She said the language barrier is incredibly hard during the testing process but she is bound and determined to not give up. She continues to learn every day from her failures and uses those failures to help her learn and stay in a forward positive motion. She currently works as a caregiver in a nursing home. She believes that being caregiver is a very important job! It’s giving quality of life to those that cannot give it to themselves. It’s “giving back”. She also believes that “team” is everything and the people you surround yourself with are incredibly important. When we asked her what she wanted to tell the world, she said, “Your energy is invaluable. Be mindful of, and incredibly selective of, who you surround yourself with. Their energy can make or break you. If you can build a team that is working toward a positive purpose, you can create miracles.” HOWE INSPIRING! Thank you for visiting
