Meet Hamlet, Camila, Veronica, & Josue from Ecuador and the Dominican Republic
Meet Hamlet (dad), Camila,(daughter), Veronica (mom), and Josue (son) from Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. Hamlet was born and raised in the Dominican Republic He was 25 years old when he and his family moved to the United States. Veronica was born and raised in Ecuador until she was 14 years old. At a very young age her mother left her with her grandparents so that her mother could come to the United States to establish a life. She said, “My grandparents raised me. I did not truly meet my mother until I was 14 years old when she came back to Ecuador to retrieve me. My father did a poor job of being a father. With those hardships I learned strength. I’m at a place in my life where I am not giving others the opportunity to take my peace away from me. I have overcome a lot.” Both Veronica and Hamlet said, “Some of our fondest memories throughout our lives have been with our families. Each of us have families that are very close. That bond is something we cherish.” Ten years ago, Hamlet was working as a corporate chef at a restaurant where Veronica would come for lunch every day. One day he invited her to go to the gym and from there, a relationship bloomed. They now have two beautiful children together but aren’t together as a couple. Two years ago, they decided to go their separate ways. They are very much enjoying co-parenting together and said that these days they get along very well. Veronica said, “My favorite thing about Hamlet is that he has grit! He never gives up no matter what he is going through. He is always trying to improve himself. He is always growing mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s inspiring for anyone to be around. He is also an amazing father.” Hamlet said, “My favorite thing about Veronica is everything. There is nothing not to love about her. She is a beautiful soul. She is a loving mother. She is strong and kind. She is a hard worker and a hustler. She also has grit.” The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Everyone is fighting their own battles. Sometimes people go through things in life that they struggle with healing from. We don’t know what others are carrying. It is our job to heal ourselves and move beyond the things that weigh us down. Wherever there is great love, there are great miracles. Never ever give up on love.” Thank you so much for visiting!
