Meet Joseba and Isabel from Spain

Joseba is from Bilbao which is world famous for the awe- inspiring Guggenheim Museum, rich Basque cuisine, and strong industrial heritage. Isabel is from Barcelona which is known for its breathtaking architecture, artistic culture, picturesque beaches, and of course, soccer. This amazing duo is cabin crew for Iberia Airlines and at times, they are travel companions. They currently have two days off and flew into Boston from Spain. From Boston, they took a flight to Buffalo, New York and checked off a bucket list item of visiting Niagara Falls. The reason they chose their profession is because they both love to travel the world. They are not only passionate about air travel, but they’re also passionate about nature and the people they meet along the way. They are both outdoor enthusiasts. They said, “Being in nature is like a reset for the soul. It’s a recentering and harmonizing with all the beauty that is around you.” Working in the airline industry has its pros and cons. While traveling may be a wonderful perk, the schedule can be incredibly grueling. You must also be well-versed in customer service and keep safety as a top priority at all times. The team said that the hardest part of their job is the definitely the schedule. They must be fit for duty when they are called to their shift. Joseba once took a three year leave to be able to stay closer to his family and have a more consistent quality of life. While, the three years was a good respite for him, nothing could keep him away from exploring the world. For some, there is something that is captivating about the aviation industry. Maybe it’s magically surfing the clouds. It could be traveling this great big wide planet filled with wonder and curiosity. Truth is that if you are one of those adventurers that’s been bitten by the bug, you will always long to go back to it. The one thing Joseba and Isabel want to tell the world is, “Stop fighting. Be kinder. Less selfish. More compassionate and empathetic. Slow down and appreciate your life. Appreciate nature and really think about how you as an individual impact it. Enjoy each other.
