Meet Lori & Chuck from Rochester, NY

Wait until you hear this story! Both of their mothers, who did not know each other, gave birth to Lori and Chuck side-by-side in a shared hospital room, 20 mins apart, 72 years ago! Lori’s mother was a WWII bride from Germany and did not speak English well. A relative visiting Chuck’s mother spoke German fluently and was able to converse with Lori’s mother. After their five day stay in the hospital, the two mothers went their own ways, never to speak again. By chance, (although, we believe that there are no coincidences) 27 years later, and one week before their birthday, Lori and Chuck were both at a local tavern. Someone at the tavern happened to be was celebrating their birthday. Chuck piped in and said “My birthday is next week!” Lori added “Mine is too!” They started chatting about their birthdays. Neither one of them believed that the other one was telling the truth. They decided to show each other their photo IDs as proof. Throughout the next year, they randomly saw each other out and about a few times. Eventually, Chuck decided to ask Lori out. While they were on that date, some of their friends started asking about the of their birthdays; like what time were they born? When they realized they were only 20 minutes apart, the next question was, what hospital they were born at. Then, if their parents knew each other? The couple had never thought about that. The following day, they both asked their mothers if they knew each other. The second they asked, both mother’s exact responses were, “I shared a hospital room with her for five days when you were born.” That was the moment they knew that they had been born together! Howe crazy is that?

They have officially been together for 44 years, married for 39. Some things are just meant to be! The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Live each day to the fullest and don’t be afraid to try new things.
