Meet Meredith, born and raised in North Carolina.
She is actively serving as a lieutenant in the United States Navy and has served for approximately four years. As of 2024, the percentage of active duty, female officers in the U.S. Navy is roughly 20%. She says that the military will be a life-long career for her and she is going to stay enlisted as long as she possibly can or until retirement in roughly 20 years. She graduated medical school with her doctorate in May of this year and is currently working on her residency in Florida! HOWE incredible! She says that while growing up, her father served in the Navy. As a young child she watched him deploy to the war in Afghanistan. Watching her father deployed to active war overseas was a pivotal moment in her life. It was then she decided to start taking care of our military overseas by sending them care packages. She then began rallying her community to do the same. As a young woman she began volunteering with the VA. She never took her freedoms for granted and gained so much appreciation for her father and other service members sacrificing so much of their lives through service to their country. As she grew into adulthood, she knew that she too wanted to dedicate her life to serving her country- following in father’s footsteps. The one thing she wants to tell the world is, “It is important to tread lightly with others, as you never know the path that they have walked in their life and what they may be carrying. Kindness matters.” Thank you so much for your service to our country Meredith! Thank you for leading by example and thank you for taking the time to visit us today! “Honor, Courage, Commitment”
