Meet newlyweds, Dena & Peter, from Connecticut

Meet newlyweds, Dena & Peter, from Connecticut, currently on their honeymoon!

They were recently married on Candlewood Lake, Connecticut. They met 4 1/2 years ago at NewSylum Brewing Company in Newtown, Connecticut. Fun fact: The brewery is an old insane asylum. Dena caught Peter’s eye so he skillfully started a conversation with her. They were so involved in an in depth conversation and seemed to be getting along so well that the friends Dena had come with decided to leave her behind! The two filled the rest of their day attending a local fair that had just come to town. They started dating that very first day and have been dating every day ever since. A couple of years ago, Peter’s family invited Dena to spend a month with them in Hawaii. Dena took over planning for their month in Hawaii. While silently hoping that Peter would propose to her during their time there, she asked him multiple times if he would like the opportunity to help her plan a day. He never took her up on the offer and told her she was doing a great job. One evening, while walking along a jetty watching the Hawaiian sunset, Peter surprised her by kneeling down on one knee and proposing! The only thing planned about it was the gorgeous handcrafted wedding rings he had specially designed for them. At the very same moment he knelt, a professional photographer happened to be taking photographs of his family. He noticed the proposal happening, and kindly captured the moment for the couple. That’s basically the story of their lives so far; simple and mostly unplanned, great moments that are adding up to create this beautiful life story together. When their support system, friends and family look at them, they don’t just see two people in love, they see two best friends adventuring through life together. They like to say that they are best friends first before anything else. The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Never forget the value of your chosen family. We got to choose each other. That is how our story began and that’s how we will carry on our story day in and day out. By choosing each other and by being the best friends for life.” Dena and Peter, thank you so much for visiting and sharing your very wise words with us. We wish you a lifetime of adventures, good health, happiness & love
