Meet Rebecca & Seif newlyweds from Brooklyn, NY
The couple met through a hiking club located in the heart of New York City. When they met, they were two souls, each carrying the weight of their pasts. Rebecca, born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, is the middle child between two brothers. As a high school art teacher in Brooklyn, she lives a life filled with color and creativity, yet behind her warm smile, is a woman who has weathered deep struggles, years of feeling unseen, and unwanted. She chose to meet that pain with strength, turning toward therapy, self-acceptance, and a journey of self-love. It’s a path that hasn’t always been easy, but one she walks with grace. On hard days, she finds healing in movement: hiking, sensory therapy, and moments of stillness in nature. Seif’s journey began across the ocean in Algeria. The second eldest of five, he grew up surrounded by the love of his siblings in a country torn by conflict. Ten years ago, Algeria was grappling with post Civil War reconstruction and economic challenges. The country was still recovering from the “Black Decade,” and faced unemployment, and poverty. The scars of growing up in an environment, which was constantly struggling to survive, is still etched in his memory, but so is his enduring resilience. He learned early on in life to hold onto positivity, even when the world around him crumbled. After a decade as a fireman in Algeria, Seif moved to the U.S. in 2023, where he now works as an electrician in Manhattan. Compassion runs deep in Seif’s veins. When his youngest sister was being bullied at school, he encouraged her to create bracelets; simple tokens, representing yin and yang, to pass out to friends. Seif said, “Yin and yang represents the balance of light and dark on our lives journey. It is a message that often goes unseen. When times become dark, it is easy to fall into the shadows and to not be able to see your way out. Many of us get trapped in the darkness, struggling, afraid, and waiting to be saved. The only way out is to be the light.” His heart beats for others, and it’s this spirit that captivated Rebecca. By the time they had met, Rebecca had made peace with the idea of walking life’s path alone, but the universe had other plans. In Seif, she found a kindred spirit—one who didn’t ask her to shrink, to change, or to earn love. His love came softly and wholly, a gift without condition. In Rebecca, Seif saw a woman who is courageously honest—a kind of honesty that doesn’t wound but illuminates. She speaks the truth with clarity, never abandoning herself to please others. They fell in love not in grand gestures, but in quiet moments—feet pressed into the earth, breaths shared under tree canopies, stories exchanged on winding trails. Nature became their sacred space, a place where they discovered the depth of their connection and the truth of who they were. Less than 48 hours ago, they stood hand-in-hand, promising forever. Their trip to Howe Caverns was the start of their honeymoon weekend in the mountains together. The future stretches wide before them, full of dreams of travel, family, and continued growth. But no matter where life leads, their guiding philosophy remains the same. “You are your wisest counsel. You don’t have to conform yourself or your life to what others perceive of you. Follow your heart. It knows where to lead you.” Rebecca and Seif—two hearts shaped by resilience, healed by love, and forever bound by the wild beauty of nature. Thank you so much for visiting!
