Meet Selena, Lili, Garrett a& Michael, from Texas

Meet sisters Selena and Lili, and their significant others, Garrett and Michael, from Texas. Selena and Lili are of Guatemalan and Japanese heritage. Before hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, New Orleans was their home. As the Hurricane approached New Orleans, they were forced to evacuate and leave everything behind. They moved to Texas and built a new life there. After high school, Lili moved across the country to Philadelphia, putting over a thousand miles between the two sisters. Their mother was born and raised in Verona, New York. After serving 20 years in the Navy, she retired and moved back home, where she was born, to take care of her elderly parents. When her parents passed away, she bought their home and moved in. The sisters said, “Life has a funny way of working out and leading you back to those you love, and ultimately, your home.” The group makes it a point to come to upstate New York at least once or twice a year to visit the girls’ mother. They also make it a priority to travel to see each other as much as possible. Fun fact: the sisters are exactly six years apart but share the same birthday! Their favorite thing about being sisters is that they have an incredibly strong bond. No matter how much time they spend apart, whenever they come back together, they said that it feels like they are with their other half. They will always be best friends. The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Our time here is short. Don’t take life too seriously.” Thank you so much for visiting!
