Meet Abdul and Rabia from Afghanistan

Afghanistan is rich in history, culture and natural resources; agriculture being the backbone to the country’s economy. Wheat, grains, raisins, dried apricots and almonds are among the country’s major exports. Abdul and Rabia immigrated to Queens, New York in 1986 in the midst of the Soviet-Afghan war. They were married in on July 4, 1993 and honeymooned in Lake George. They are currently on vacation with their children and celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary by visiting Upstate attractions. When we ask them what was something special about their family, they said, “We love spice and have a very high spice tolerance in attitude, and in food!” They kept us laughing with their infectious good spirits and jokes the whole conversation. Their favorite motto is:“Nothing ventured nothing gained.” Take the risk! Happy 31st Anniversary and thank you for visiting
