Meet Amber from New York City

The moment Betsy saw Amber walk into the Main Lodge, she knew she had to meet her. Amber has been a licensed nurse for approximately a year. She also is an aviatrix! She has been flying planes since she was 12 years old! Her grandfather was part of the 101st Airborne Division. Her father also had a love of flying, but never obtained his pilot’s license. Amber has been working on her license on and off but life keeps getting in the way. One of the most important rules of flying is that you must always stay current & proficient. Amber once took a flight at the Rhinebeck Aerodrome in a biplane. There’s no other feeling in the world like flying in one of the aircrafts that pioneered aviation. You either love to fly or you don’t. It’s usually the fear of the unknown that makes us afraid of flying; the fear of falling, the fear of failing. This can be true of so many things in life. Amber said that in honor of her Dad not being able to fulfill his own dream of being a licensed pilot, she is now more bound and determined than ever to never give up on her dream. Get it, Amber!

Thank you so much for visiting!

“Aviation is proof that given the will, we have the capacity to achieve the impossible.”

– Eddie Rickenbacker P.S. the reason that Betsy felt so drawn to Amber is because she too is a pilot
