Meet Brian and Johnathan from San Francisco, CA
They have been together for 16 years. Brian grew up in Connecticut, and visited Howe Caverns when he was young. He studied communications at Fordham University, in the Bronx, and currently works in marketing. Johnathan is well traveled. He was born in Colorado, raised in California, lived in Hawaii and Germany, and eventually, settled down in San Francisco, where he owns a successful leather shop. Sixteen years ago, the two met at an international leather event in Chicago. After the event, they both went back home to opposite coasts of the country; Brian to New York and Johnathan to San Francisco. They spent the next year and a half in a long distance relationship before Brian moved to San Francisco to work with Johnathan at the leather shop. The couple said that the hardest part of their relationship is figuring out how to get from point A to point B. Directions are their nemesis and they joked that Google is no help! They said that, on this trip, New Jersey was the hardest to navigate. They said that if they could make it through New Jersey together, then they can make it through anything together! They also suggested never trying to find a Starbucks in New Jersey because you just wind up driving in circles. The couple said, “The way we get through tough moments is first acknowledging that we are having a communication breakdown and then we work through it together. We believe that therapy is healthy. We started utilizing that tool at about seven years into our relationship. It helps to provide a mediator and a fresh and different perspective.” Johnathan‘s favorite thing about Brian is that he has a great sense of humor and always keeps him laughing. Brian’s favorite thing about Johnathan is that he is passionate about life and loves adventure. He is always keeping the adventure alive for them so that they can create amazing, lifelong memories. The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Take the time to focus on your own happiness and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing.” Thank you so much for visiting!
