Meet Carlie born and raised in Montana

She currently lives in western New York. She’s the second to last of seven siblings. Her siblings are sisters and she only has one brother! Interestingly enough, although Carlie is surrounded by females in her life, she’s very much drawn to a male dominated industry. Currently, she works as a butcher and soon, she will be studying mortuary science. She said, “While it may seem odd to some, being a butcher is quite an art. We just went through our busy season during the holidays. Cutting a good piece of meat the correct way takes precision and skill. The majority of head butchers are male. I’m honored to hold the position as one of the top butchers at the shop where I work. It’s important to have skills that are survival related and I believe that being able to butcher meat is an important life skill.” She went on to explain that her passion behind going to school for mortuary science goes far deeper than just dealing with the deceased. She said, “it’s important to have compassion, empathy, and understanding for grieving families while they’re enduring some of the greatest losses in their lives.” She also joked that when she talks about the two professions together people often seem a little concerned. Carlie recently created a live / virtual treasure hunt. For the game, she has created postcards, commissioned art, and even built her own website. Yesterday was its launch day! She is excited and hoping to build a community of players that not only interact online, but also in real time, out in the real world, with each other and their communities. She is really hoping that her new game takes off. The one thing she wants to tell the world is, “Be kind. It’s so simple but so important. Life is just one great big experiment and we are all out here just doing the best we can with what we have. Kindness matters. I’ll see you in the game!” Congratulations on the exciting launch of your new game and thank you for visiting!
