Meet Diana and Christina from NY

They visited to take their minds off the loss of their 14 yr. old, Springer Spaniel fur baby, Jack. They are absolutely heartbroken. They were so kind and brave to share their story and a few tears with Betsy, as it is still very fresh. As most know, the loss of a pet is the loss of a beloved family member. Our pets are woven into our daily lives, routines, and memories. Jack’s favorite things to do were to beg for food, go the lake and swim, and cuddle. Diana & Christina met when they were on an ice hockey team. Christina asked Diana to go to a Luke Bryan concert and the rest is history! They have been married for six months and they’ve been together for five years. They joked that the hardest part of their relationship is figuring out what to eat together. Christina’s favorite thing about Diana is that she is incredibly warmhearted and caring. Diana’s favorite thing about their relationship is that she believes that they are best friends and each other’s mirror. It was obvious to Betsy, while talking to them, that they are incredibly supportive of each other. Jack could not have had two better parents. Six months ago when they married, they went to Aruba on their honeymoon. While they were there, they adopted Rufus. They had no idea what breed he was or how old he was. The only thing they knew was that they wanted to give him the best life they possibly could. They said, “We love animals. It’s our job to be their caregivers. If you can, adopt a pet that needs a good home and give it the best life you possibly can. It’s worth it.” Thank you so very much for sharing your story on a hard day. Congratulations, on your new adventures with Rufus and may Jack’s spirit always fill your hearts with beautiful and loving memories. Thank you for visiting!
