Meet Emily from Louisiana
She was born and raised in Mississippi and has lived in Louisiana for 4 1/2 yrs. This Southern Belle lives in the strawberry capital of the world. It’s also home to the world longest bridge built entirely over water! The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, tops out at 23.87 miles long. Louisiana is famous for its New Orleans Mardi Gras, as well as its French Quarter, and delectable southern cuisine! Gumbo and beignets are deep rooted food staples in Louisiana history. Another interesting fact is that Voodoo is still practiced in New Orleans. It was originally brought to New Orleans by West African and Haitian slaves during colonialism. The French, Spanish, and Creoles have all influenced Louisiana’s rich thriving culture. Emily is currently visiting family here in New York. She is a woman of many hats. She’s a licensed real estate agent, a beverage cart girl at a golf course, and she travels for another job that hosts Ducks Unlimited banquets and music festivals. Believe it or not, in her free time she likes to go frog hunting & bow fishing. The biggest inspiration in her life has been watching her parents live their best lives after have realized several of their dreams. They always wanted to move to New York. They had put that dream off on hold until now, while they both worked two jobs so that Emily and her three brothers could have a good and comfortable life. She is incredibly grateful for all of their sacrifices. When asked if she had one thing to tell the world, she said, “Stop judging others. Just live and love everyone around you. Let them be who they are. Love them exactly as they are.” Thank you so much for visiting, Emily!
“Be curious, not judgmental.” -Walt Whitman
