Meet Gary, Glenn & Mark, from California!

Meet Gary, Glenn & Mark, three Japanese American cousins from California! While Mark and Gary were born in California and Glenn, in Hawaii, all three were raised together in California. They consider each other as close as brothers. They flew from the west coast as a bucket list trip for them. They share a love of baseball and have been talking about visiting the National Baseball Hall of Frame in Cooperstown, NY for over 20 years. While Gary and Mark have visited New York before, (Gary over 40 years ago and Mark only two years ago) this is Glenn‘s very first time. They say that growing up in Los Angeles is a stark contrast to Upstate. Gary said that he has never seen anything like it. He finds the people to be interactive and kind and the landscape to be breathtaking. As they have gotten older and their children have become a little more self-sufficient, they collectively decided that there is no better time than the present! We spoke about how often we say, “I’ll take that trip some time.” or I’ll do that one day.” but time is fleeting. Our moments here are literally numbered. The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Don’t wait. The time is now. Your life is happening and happens faster and faster as you get older. Don’t let opportunities pass you by. Be intentional with your life and seize the days!” Thank you so very much for traveling all the way across the country to visit and thank you for sharing your story!
