Valerie was born five minutes before Vanessa. They are of Haitian descent Their father is a neonatologist. He received his education in Haiti and then immigrated to the United States to do his residency. Their mother moved from Haiti to Puerto Rico to attend nursing school and then moved to New York City. Their parents met while working in the medical industry in Manhattan. The twins have spent their lives, traveling back-and-forth between the U.S. and Haiti. Valerie & Vanessa completed their primary education together and later, both graduated from Cornell University together. Vanessa has a degree and neuroscience and followed in her father’s footsteps. Valerie has a degree and anthropology. Vanessa’s love of neuroscience fuels her fascination with being a twin and the connection that she and her sister share. She said, “It’s incredible that the both of us came from one cell. We literally came from the same heartbeat. When that cell split apart it created two unique individuals but the bond that we share, spiritually and emotionally, is something that is beyond separation. We are very interconnected.” They said, “Sometimes it is hard to separate emotion. When one is sad the, other is sad. When one is happy, the other is happy.” They also joked, “Single birthers must be very lonely!” Today, they live just a few houses apart and spend much their daily lives their intertwined between their families and households. Valerie‘s favorite thing about Vanessa is that she always has her back and she understands her. Vanessa’s favorite thing about Valerie is that she has an incredibly magical soul. Valerie can light up a room and bring joy wherever she goes! The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Always look for love in every situation and if you can’t find love, be love.” Thank you so much for visiting
