Meet Andrey & Angelina born and raised in Ukraine
Meet Andrey & Angelina born and raised in Ukraine They are six years apart in age and grew up in the same town; attending the same school and church. Her family immigrated to Binghamton, New York, when she was eleven. Andrey’s family immigrated to Oregon one year later. Their families knew each other when they lived in Ukraine. Years later, while on social media, Angelina’s photo came up as a suggested friend. Andrey remembered her and contacted her, but Angelina did not remember him. She, later, had conversations with her family, asking if any of them knew him. They all remembered him. His family remembered her too! Andrey and Angelina reconnected, spent time talking, and getting to know each other. They talked so much that they decided to be in a long distance committed relationship. He flew from Oregon to Binghamton to celebrate her birthday with her. Then she started flying to see him. It went on that way for about a year. In 2009, on Christmas Eve, they came to Howe Caverns and they just so happened to be the only two people on their tour that day. While on the boat ride, the tour guide turned the lights completely off to demonstrate total darkness. When the lights came back on, he was kneeling, in the boat with a ring, and he proposed!!! (Ok. who got goosebumps? We did!) Fifteen years later, they have four beautiful children together, and now live in Binghamton. As a couple, they have been through a lot together. Some of their hardest moments were suffering three miscarriages. Angelina says that her husband is amazing and was so supportive through each loss. They said the most important thing in their relationship is that each of them have the ability to take accountability, show respect, and hold space for each other during conflict. They attribute their success to the fact that they they are a good team and work quick to find a solutions and resolutions to problems. They feel very blessed that they can communicate so well. They said, “It has been an amazing 15 years. Whenever we are really struggling, we pray, and they lean into our faith in God.” Andrey’s favorite thing about Angelina is that she is open, honest and transparent. She is not afraid to come to him and openly communicate; something that he does not take for granted. Angelina’s favorite thing about Andrey is that they have a very well-rounded relationship. He is her rock in any storm. He helps with everything and he is an amazing provider for her and their children. They see their relationship as teamwork and they always have each other’s best interest at heart. The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Build your family on a strong foundation of faith, daily love, and daily prayer. With God, anything is possible.” Happiest of Anniversaries! Wishing you a lifetime of good health & blessings. Thank you for returning and continuing to share the tradition with your beloved family. We are so honored.
