Meet Jason & Chloe from Maui Hawaii
Island living can be challenging and expensive. They explained the concept of Hawaii’s “paradise tax”. It describes the perceived difference in the cost of living between Hawaii and the mainland. Hawaii has a higher cost of living and lower incomes than other parts of the U.S. At times, living on an island can make its inhabitants feel limited. As tourism is the main industry of Hawaii, branching out to other industries can be difficult. Chloe has a degree in creative writing. After graduating, she found finding work hard to come by as there wasn’t a lot of opportunity in her field. She eventually landed a remote job with a tech company narrating video games! HOWE interesting! Jason currently works using his mechanical engineering skills for hotels. Both of their careers have allowed them to be able to embrace both their creativity and individuality. This stateside trip is huge for them! They planned and saved to make it happen! We’re so happy they did! When Betsy asked them if they had one thing to tell the world, they said “Share Aloha. Spread aloha. Be kind and share a smile. Smiles are infectious and they can change a person’s day.”
“Aloha” means love & fellowship in Hawaiian. We love that! Thank you for visiting!
