Meet Jennifer and Jason from Connecticut
The two share a love of motorcycles. This weekend they are attending the Can-Am Spyder convention in Lake George as well as the Adirondack Nationals car show. Jennifer became a mom when she was nineteen years old. While her kids were growing up, she worked for her local school district so that she could be close to them. She put her dreams of being a nurse on hold until later in life. She obtained her degree & licensing when she was 41. While she was raising her own children, sadly, her older brother passed away from a drug overdose, leaving behind his young daughter. Jennifer said that she knew that if she didn’t step in and adopt her niece, she would become a part of the foster care system. She could never let that happen. She says the pain of losing her brother so early in life is still very painful today. Her niece is now a beautiful mother of two and has a wonderful job. A few years ago, Jennifer’s younger brother, who also struggles with drug addiction, had his daughter taken away. Jennifer and Jason stepped in and adopted her, as well. She said that she and Jason weren’t expecting to be parents all over again but are incredibly grateful for all the love and support that they have received. When asked if they had one piece of advice for others, they said, “Sometimes you just have to take life moment by moment, day by day. Never give up on your dreams.” Thank you for visiting!
P.S. Thank you, Jennifer for giving Betsy a quick ride on your Spyder!
