Meet Kamil and Montana from Brooklyn, NY

Montana was born and raised in Thailand and Kamil was born & raised in Turkey. Montana was 22 years old when a friend invited her to visit and study in the United States. She stayed for a few months and then returned to Thailand. Kamil’s story is similar. His first visit was short and then he returned to home to Turkey. When Kamil decided to return to the U.S. from Turkey, he made New York City his home. He had already lived NYC for almost two years by the time that Montana returned to the United States. She also settled in NYC. The two had not yet met each other and were living in a city of 8.25 million people. They both just worked and studied, eventually deciding it was time to return to their home countries. Just before they were getting ready to leave the U.S., they met each other! Kamil says the moment he saw Montana he knew that he wanted to marry her. They have been together for 8 years- married for 3. Neither one of them has ever met the others family, face-to-face. They have only met and visited over video calls. In the coming year, the couple plans to travel to each other’s homeland to meet their families. Kamil says that they are the best of friends. They rarely ever fight but if they have a disagreement, they are always respectful to each other and give each other the space they need to process. They believe that this is the best way to come back to each other and engage and communicate in a healthy way. The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Love has no boarders, no creed, no race.
