Meet Leah and John from Rochester

Meet Leah and John from Rochester, New York. John planned their entire trip as a surprise for Leah. She was given only one hint! All he told her was to be ready to sit in the car for three hours and to bring a hoodie. It’s safe to say the surprise was a success because Leah absolutely loved it.

John and Leah share quite a history together. They first met when they were just 16 years old and today they’re raising two daughters. They had never visited Howe Caverns before, but when John discovered it, he knew it would make the perfect surprise adventure.

John works as an auto mechanic, while Leah stays busy working two retail jobs. Whenever they do get some free time, they enjoy spending it together. John loves working on classic cars, and Leah enjoys making crafts.

Leah was especially amazed by the boat ride and the vaulted ceilings of the cave. She also really enjoyed Winding Way which surprised her the most since she’s very claustrophobic. She expected that part of the tour to be difficult but it actually became one of the highlights of Leah’s experience. John said he loved the entire tour as well. He joked that he spent most of the first half taking pictures of everything but in the way back from the boat ride he made sure to put his phone down and really take in the beauty of the cave. They had a wonderful day and are already planning to return, maybe with the whole family next time. Thank you so much for visiting!
