Meet Michelle & Maureen from Westchester County, NY

Betsy found this mother and daughter smiling and laughing in front of our fortuneteller, Ol’ Abner! Betsy couldn’t help but stop to see what the fuss was all about. After chatting, Michelle shared that her mom had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. They have vowed to make the most of life by going on new adventures and making as many memories together as they can. When Betsy asked them how they were able to find such joy in bittersweet moments, Michelle drew an analogy between life and climbing mountains. She said, “When you’re in it, you keep your head down, stay focused, and climb on. Every now and then, you look up to see how far you’ve come and to see the beautiful scenery. Once you get to the top of one mountain, you are at the foot of another. Enjoy the journey, because there will always be struggle. Adapt and overcome.” Michelle & Maureen, we will continue to think of you as you continue this journey together. Love to you both. Thank you for making us a part of your memories
