Meet Rachael and Kevin from Buffalo, NY

Meet Rachael and Kevin from Buffalo—who tied the knot right here at our Bridal Altar (Wedding n° 624) on 9/10/11!

They’re back 14 years later with their two adorable kids, Zoey Grace and Berritt, kicking off a family road trip through New England (with six board games packed for the ride!)

Here’s a sweet little legend from their love story: At Howe, it’s said that if you step on the heart with the one you love, you’ll get engaged within a year. When Rachael and Kevin toured the cave six months before their proposal, Kevin stepped around the heart.

“He made a point of stepping around it,” Rachael laughed. “But both of us already had secret plans to propose- we just didn’t know the other one did too!”

Kevin added, “I wasn’t avoiding commitment, I was like, ‘the heart’s not gonna tell me what to do…I already KNOW what I’m gonna do!’”

Now, with two kids, a pile of board games, and 14 years of adventure together, they’re still making memories and we’re honored to be part of their story. Happy Anniversary, Rachael & Kevin!
