Meet the Desautels from Vermont
Vermont is known for its picturesque mountains, fall foliage, maple syrup, and awesome ski resorts. It was home to and is the resting place for, the famous poet, Robert Frost. It is also the place where many of Norman Rockwell’s artistic creations came alive. The Desautles are a blended family! Riley, the eldest, has siblings that aren’t here today because they are with the other half of her family. Being the eldest, has shaped her into a very responsible and resilient young woman. Her mother says Riley is a great help and a fantastic big sister. These parents work very hard to provide the best life they possibly can for the children but with the current economy, they are rarely able to go on vacation. This past week they visited family in Kentucky. They went to Ark Encounter (Life-size Noah’s Ark | Ark Encounter) – the recreation of Noah’s ark! The children said it was massive and made them feel incredibly small! Betsy asked each of the children if they could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would they go, the girls (Riley 15 & Payton 11) said somewhere out west so they could go snowboarding and skiing. Levi (11) said home. Lincoln (6) said to London to see the clock Big Ben! She then asked Mom & Dad if they had one vacation wish what would it be, and they said, “We would rent an RV and take the children everywhere they possibly could around the United States.” This beautiful family is full of adventure but knows that home is sometimes right where we need to be. When asked if they had one thing to tell the world, they said, “ Progress, not perfection and don’t forget to sprinkle it with kindness.” Thank you so much for visiting!
