Meet Hadia, Seerat, Aisha & Isra, Gaida from Pakistan

Meet Hadia, a devoted mother, Seerat, her kind-hearted sister-in-law, and Hadia’s two daughters, bright little Aisha, 4, and baby Isra, just 10 months old from Gaida, Pakistan Together, they form a warm, close-knit family that embodies the spirit of togetherness. Tonight the Strawberry Moon signals the continuation of Eid al-Adha, a special celebration of faith, sacrifice, and community. Traditionally the holiday begins with morning prayers in the local mosque, followed by warm embraces, visits to neighbors, and the sharing of meals that have been lovingly prepared. Families adorn their best clothes, and homes are filled with the aroma of traditional dishes like biryani, kebabs, and sweet treats such as sheer khurma. Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice for God. Across the world, families come together not just to celebrate, but to reflect. They offer prayers, share food with those in need, and cherish time with loved ones. Today the family began their celebration by visiting Howe Caverns. This beautiful family has one message for the world today, “Eid Mubarak!” Or “Blessed Eid!” Let their journey remind us that no matter where we are in the world, whether it be a village in Pakistan or deep in a cavern beneath the earth, this is a time to connect, to give thanks, and to celebrate the bonds that tie us all together. Let their warmth and joy inspire us to come together in compassion, celebration and in peace. Thank you for visiting!
