Meet Jena & Jerry from Seattle, Washington

They met at a bouldering (rock climbing) gym a little over two years ago. On the day they met, they used the app, “Meet Up.” Meet Up is a social networking app that allows people to find events or meet new people interested in similar things. It was Jena‘s first time ever using the app. Jerry is an outgoing person, not only is he outgoing, he gives off “camp counselor” vibes!

He had already done multiple meet ups before. He noticed that Jena was new, so he introduced himself to help make her feel comfortable. The meet up was a regularly scheduled event so they both started attending regularly. From there, a friendship was first born and then eventually, a relationship. Jerry was born in Germany and raised for a short time in upstate New York. Jenna was born in North Carolina and has lived in multiple states throughout her life. When Jerry was young, he was fascinated with Howe Caverns. While visiting family locally, he knew that he had to show Jena the cave. They are both career-driven engineers. The hardest part of their relationship is to remember to prioritize each other. Their solution is to make a schedule to make sure that they spend quality time together. Jena’s favorite thing about Jerry that he is the most kind and understanding person that she has ever met. He provides her with emotional safety and security. She can always come to him with anything without judgement. Jerry loves how brilliant Jena’s mind is. He said that he appreciates being with her. When he is near her, he feels calm and safe. The one thing they want to tell the world is, “Things don’t always go according to plan. You can’t control everything. Sometimes you just have let go and be in the moment.
