Meet Kim and Mike from Connecticut

She’s a city girl and he’s a country boy. They both work for a global aerospace and defense company. Did you know that there is a Castle in Amsterdam, NY, built by the designer of the New York State Capitol Building? It’s called the Amsterdam Castle and that’s where newlyweds, Kim and Mike, started their day of adventure. The couple recently married four months ago. They are a blended family with five children between the two of them. They love being together and make sure to carve time out to nurture their relationship. Finding the time to slow down and appreciate each other is not easy in their hectic daily lives but they know that it is a priority. Their first date was a year and a half ago. Mike suggested that they go on an ATV ride and then to dinner. Kim, not knowing exactly what she was in for, was not dressed appropriately. She dressed to impress! When she arrived, they immediately hopped onto an ATV and off they went! When they emerged from the woods, they were completely covered, head to toe, in mud! That was something that Kim had not anticipated! They got cleaned up and then Mike pleasantly surprised her by taking her out to a beautiful restaurant for dinner. She said, “I knew it was a good date because it was the best of both worlds!” In her words, “It was an amazing, romantic adventure!” Mike’s favorite thing about Kim is that she is an incredibly wonderful mother. He did not say this lightly. You could see the respect and adoration he holds for Kim and her role in their family. Kim’s favorite things about Mike are that he is well-rounded, a protector, kind, and a good provider for those he loves. When Betsy asked them what would they tell the world, they said, “Before we met each other, we had both given up on spending our lives with someone. We were hyper-independent individuals. When we decided to start this relationship, we tried not to overthink it. We just went for it! If we could tell the world one thing it would be… Just go for it!” Thank you so much for visiting!
