Meet Nancy, Gloria, Nancy, Margaret, Sofia from Brooklyn, NY
Andrew met & chatted with Nancy, Gloria, Nancy, Margaret, Sofia from Brooklyn, New York. Nancy works as an administrative manager with small business services. Gloria is a bookkeeper, Margaret works as an accountant. Sofia is currently studying Sociology at Hunter College.
Andrew: What brings you all to Howe Caverns? You’ll be going on our lantern tour later this evening, but have any of you visited before?
Sofia: We decided to do a mini vacation for Thanksgiving, and have been staying in a cabin for the past few days. My mom (Nancy), Gloria, and I had visited when I was younger, and we really enjoyed it, so we wanted to come back and do another tour. This is Margaret’s first time.
Andrew: Are you all from the same area?
Nancy: We all live in Brooklyn, and we decided as a group, that we needed a break from the city, and a chance to get out and just be in nature. The views on the drive up were very lovely.
Andrew: How much longer is your trip?
Sofia: Today is our last full day, and we’ll be driving back tomorrow. This trip has been a great chance to relax, but we also had a very cold hike on Vroman’s Nose, which was challenging, but fun! We also were able to have a great Thanksgiving dinner in our cabin.
Andrew: Who’s the chef? Any signature dishes?
Gloria: I’m the main cook, but the others were a great help. Most would say that my Mac and Cheese is my specialty.
Nancy: Overall it’s been a very relaxing trip, and a much needed break.
Andrew: If you all could tell the world one thing, what would it be?
Gloria: Be kind.
Margaret: I’ll second that, it’s important that we treat each other with kindness. Life is too short not to be kind.
Nancy: We really need to start taking care of our planet. As humans, it’s our job to do better.
Sofia: To quote Lord of the Rings, which we watched last night, “Even when things feel hopeless, there is some good in the world, and it’s worth fighting for.”
Thank you so much for visiting
