Meet Timur, Guzal, Malika, and Rustam &,from Uzbekistan

Timur, Guzal (wife) and Malika (Timur and Guzal’s daughter) and Rustam & Dilafruz (Guzal’s parents) from Uzbekistan Rustam and Dilafruz are visiting from Uzbekistan while Timur, Guzal, and Malika are now living here in the U.S. Uzbekistan is a country located in Central Asia, north of Afghanistan, and is landlocked by five countries (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan). Uzbekistan is known for its mosques, mausoleums, and other sites linked to the Silk Road, the ancient trade route between China and the Mediterranean. Most of the population speaks Russian. Timur and Guzal are both medical doctors and are currently in residency here at a local hospital. When they visited Howe Caverns for the very first time, they fell in love with it. When relatives visit, they always bring them to Howe to show them the majestic cave and beautiful views that upstate New York boasts. Uzbekistan is mainly deserts and grasslands with very hot long summers. Moving to the U.S. involved quite a bit of culture shock and adjustment for Timur & Guzal but they are really enjoying life here now.
