Meet Trevor and Teagan from Rochester, New York
Meet Trevor and Teagan. Today Trevor and Teagan call Rochester, New York home, though Teagan’s journey there took her across the country. She previously lived in Oregon, Washington, and Texas before putting down roots in New York in 2007. Teagan grew up surrounded by a large and influential family, which continues to inspire her today. From a young age, she developed a deep love for nature, especially through visiting national parks. The outdoors has played such a meaningful role in her life that it became part of one of her most important moments, their wedding day. Trevor and Teagan were married in front of a beautiful waterfall along Mount Marcy known as Indian Falls. While was Teagan’s first time visiting there, Mount Marcy held special significance for Trevor, who had explored and camped there as a scout in his youth. Today, Teagan channels her passion for the environment into her work in microplastic pollution research.
Trevor, who grew up in and around the Rochester area, including Livonia and Buffalo, shares that same deep appreciation for the outdoors. As a child, he spent many years as a scout, taking on adventures that helped shape his love for exploration. One particularly impressive skill he developed- he has spent multiple days living in igloos and knows how to safely build and maintain them. His connection to nature remains just as strong today.
Trevor and Teagan met at St. John Fisher College, where Trevor was actually Teagan’s chemistry tutor. Both were studying Environmental Studies, and over time, their connection grew into a lasting relationship. Now, they are celebrating five years of marriage and looking forward to ten years together this coming August.
When asked, Trevor described today’s visit to the cave as the perfect blend of indoor and outdoor activity for a spring day in New York.
They share a meaningful outlook on life and a message for others: “focus on growing a little each day, release the weight of past mistakes, and remember that today’s missteps are simply opportunities to learn and do better tomorrow.” Thank you so much for visiting!
